"The Athens of America"

Boston--a place I visited about ten years ago. Today, my friend and I found ourselves wandering in this lovely city with my google maps and list of restaurants.

Our first stop was a brief window shopping on Newbury Street. Instead of being a shopaholic, we had a pear-ginger upsidedown cake at L'Amora Cafe.

This is the facade of the building where one of the Finale restaurants is located.
We ordered Finale Forest, Razzmatazz, [Boston cream cake] and a soup for lunch there.

By the lagoon, a squirrel came to us, standing there patiently. Apparently it was eager to be fed. Soon enough, it got disappointed and walked away.

Without a Lonely Planet in hand, we realized that we had missed The Freedom Trail that we were just walking along towards Faneuil Hall Marketplace. In fact, we indulged ourselves with 2 scoops of Joey's Gelato (green apple and mint chocolate) in Quincy Market. We decided to have an early dinner at Union Oyster House. The rotating miniature of this historic site at the window of the gift shop drew our attention. After a brief shopping, we turned ourselves in to a waitress who later brought us to the Colonial Room for dinner. We simply ordered a Shore Dinner.

After that, we made our move to Boston Chowda where I ordered a small Clam Chowda and a Lobster pie to go.

We took the train from State station to South Station to catch a bus for our return.
