Warm greetings

Gone to Houston

If you have seen the movie Bolt, you would agree that there are three major cultural experience in the U.S.: New York's green Liberty lady, Texas' Cowboy and California's Hollywood.

The Atlantic cover story "Did Christianity Cause the Crash?" was one of the reasons for this visit: Joel Osteen's Ministry @ Lakewoods Church.

The Lakewoods Church, has 16,000 seats, is the largest church in the United States. In fact, it is not really a church that we would think of from a traditional viewpoint. Local people call the "church" a circus; and it is known for prosperity sermon. Also, I might have overlooked, but I didn't see any cross, except at the bookstore there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My first taste of the local Blue Bell ice cream... hmm... it was a bit too milky flavor and heavy for me. We also had the authentic Texan barbecue, but I enjoyed the bread more than the ribs.
I also discovered more and more good snacks, great cafes and restaurants. Look at our creamy Italian dishes.
*Christmas Day Brunch @ the Houstonian.
I found that Texan style French Toast is made with creme and dipped with caramel. (Someone posted this French toast served with ketchup in China... looks cute, but... it would be a no-no for me)
My dessert plates:
#1: unlimited mimosa, vanilla shortcake mousse with pomegranate seeds cup, chocolate mousse on pistachio shortcake , mini éclair, creme brulee, & baked chocolate chips covered with white stuff
#2: Bruche de Noel, Lemon Meringune & white chocolate mushroom
The holiday spirit is up! Many light shows... here are some of the best decorated houses!
more site-seeing:
museums, historic districts, I. M. Pei's J.P. Morgan Chase Tower, Yao Restaurant (yea, Yao Ming's family business. We didn't eat but took pictures at the door), and more.
*@ HMH: "Rememberance" + "Wall of Hope" + "Wall of Tears" + the soil of concentration and extermination camps = a timeless Memorial room.
*Korean Artist Do Ho Suh's artworks @ MFAH
*The gigantic Beatles and Presidents statues @ David Addicks' sculpturworx
@ the Galleria
Being a temporary caretaker of two Tibetan Shih-Tzu puppies 獅子狗 has been an extraordinary experience.
Avator = Awesomeness
The movie Avator 3-D was like a wonderful blessing James Cameron gave to us. It was one of the best movies with beautiful scenes I have seen in recent years. It was a story of everything that you might have heard of from history books or video games, such as the Hometree, tribes, floating islands, Colonialism... and the ending was satisfying.
除了有機食品和一般循環再用的用品外,這裡有餐廳用粟粉造的塑膠杯,更有超級市場棄用塑膠袋改用紙皮箱。
Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it [slowly] snow
西廂飄雪?
Dec 4th (Thu)
明日天氣預測:雪
。。。點解?點算?
Dec 5th (Fri)
真的下雪了。
細雪飄飄,能夠看見此奇景,真是幸運。
鄰居的貓貓也來湊熱鬧呢!
附近的鄰居喜歡飼養寵物,有不少貓貓狗狗通街走,其中有幾隻黑貓。
「小黑喵」的背影
::以下句子非常港式口語::
Flipping a monthly calendar
新的新的!
翻過月曆,由印有「最好沒有」的十一月到「天下太平」的十二月。原來已經整整一個月沒有更新網誌了。
如此慢,只怪自己早前休息期間,生活 Wii 嘩,之後又貪吃「糖蓮子」之過。哈哈!
~~請珍惜能讓您感到「苦中一點甜」的那個人~~
Turkey Weekend
I was not one of those early birds on Friday, but I went to Staples on Saturday night and I found no line, no customer store. A prolonged big sale continued on Monday. Did you purchase anything on this "Cyber Monday" or just to be a spectator on "Buy[ing] Nothing" ?
From Ads to Marketing Critique
I don't appreciate junk mails, so I rarely give out my e-mail or mailing address to retail stores. However, they can always find ways to surprise me. Today, when I opened the mailbox, there came with some early and unexpected holiday greetings. First, I got a Hallmark Christmas card from AT&T. Addressed to "current resident" sending from an address with a missing name of the sender, I knew it was a marketing product. Similar envelopes were already in the garbage can next to the mailbox, but I didn't ignore mine. I took "it" home. I opened the envelope and found a nice Christmas card and a service promotion card. Okay... a pretty wasteful garbage (an envelope + a card + a promotion card = Not green. Not convincing.) I also got a "Christmas card" from Walmart. Without an envelop, this card has a cute Walmart Santa Claus to introduce a $5 gift card on the front. I found warm greetings and the gift card inside.
The same "Christmas greetings"... but it looks like Walmart 的市場推廣技倆尤勝一籌 in my opinion.
